Kristine D. Slam, MD, FACS
Kristine Slam, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon with Metropolitan Surgery division, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed her surgical training at the University of Toledo. Dr. Slam has a clinical focus in oncology and breast cancer, and has advanced surgical skills in hidden scar breast cancer surgery, oncoplastic breast surgery, and nipple-sparing mastectomy. Dr. Slam has served as the Cancer Liaison Physician for the Mount Carmel Health Systems Cancer Program since 2015, and has oversight responsibilities for ongoing American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation. She also is the current Chairman of the Mount Carmel East Surgery Department. She is a physician champion for quality improvement projects in the hospital for decreasing surgical site infections. Dr. Slam has published over ten papers in peer-reviewed journals and has given numerous invited lectures on breast diseases and breast cancer. Dr. Slam is a core faculty member of the Mount Carmel General Surgery residency program, responsible for the education of benign and malignant breast disease. Dr. Slam lives in Blacklick with her daughter, and enjoys traveling and shoes.
